16 Days of Activism 2022

On the 25th of September, 2025, join us for, Tip of the Iceberg: a one-day conference exploring the prevention of and responses to suicide following domestic abuse.
Recent research has found that suicide is now the leading cause of death in domestic abuse cases (National Domestic Homicide Project, 2025). In the year to March 2024, there were 98 suspected suicides linked to abusive relationships—more than the number of intimate partner homicides over the same period.
This conference creates space for professionals and bereaved families to address this critical issue, share insights on prevention strategies, and improve responses to those bereaved by suicide in the context of domestic abuse.
Drawing on a range of expert academic, campaigner, responder and bereaved family member speakers, this conference will equip delegates with an understanding of:
· Domestic abuse related suicide prevention strategies
· The type of support that families bereaved by domestic abuse related suicide need
· How criminal justice, mental health and other agency responses to domestic abuse related suicide can be improved
Due to the nature of this traumatic topic, there will also be wellbeing sessions and support available throughout the day.
Access – The conference will be in-person attendance only. This is so that we can offer appropriate support to anyone needing it.
